Gender Affirming
Private Voice Lessons
As a trans or gender non-conforming person, your voice is an important part of your identity. Feeling dysphoria or discomfort with your speaking voice can get in the way of feeling joyful and celebrating who you are.
If you’ve checked out a bunch of resources online, you might be feeling overwhelmed, and not quite know where to start or if you’re even doing the exercises the right way. You may have found some success, but without feedback, you’ve hit a plateau.
Working one-on-one can help the process feel much more manageable, and keep your progress going. By uncovering what makes your voice uniquely yours, together, we will work on the elements that will get you to your ideal voice.
In my years of teaching experience, I’ve found that there are so many benefits of taking regular weekly or bi-weekly lessons.

Vocal Feminization Private sessions
In trans feminine private vocal lessons, we’ll work on the following topics throughout your lessons:
Breath
Breath is what gets your voice going. We’ll work together to ensure that your voice is properly supported with your air flow.
Warm Ups
Warming up is essential for taking good care of your voice. You’ll learn different warm up options and we’ll develop a routine tailored to you that you can use each day.
Resonance
Resonance is the sound quality of the voice. For vocal feminization, we’ll work on finding a bright, forward resonance by changing the position of your vocal tract. Resonance has the ability to change the gender perception of the voice even more than pitch does!
Pitch
Pitch is how high or low your voice is. We’ll work on moving your pitch to a comfortable, higher pitch that feels natural, sustainable, and feminine.
Vocal Weight
Vocal weight is how heavy or light your voice sounds. For vocal feminization, we’ll work on finding a thinner, lighter vocal quality.
Inflection
Inflection is how your pitch changes to show emphasis while you speak. For vocal feminization, you’ll reflect on your personal inflection style and work on smoothly gliding through changes in pitch.
Articulation
Some consonants create blockages of air followed by a burst of air to make the sound. You’ll learn how to notice this and how to articulate using softer bursts of air.

Vocal Masculinization
Private sessions
In trans masculine private voice lessons, we’ll work on the following topics throughout your lessons:
Breath
Breath is what gets your voice going. We’ll work together to ensure that your voice is properly supported with your air flow.
Warm Ups
Warming up is essential for taking good care of your voice. You’ll learn different warm up options and we’ll develop a routine tailored to you that you can use each day.
Pitch
If you’ve decided to go on T, you are probably experiencing a drop in pitch. It can take up to 2 years for your voice to stabilize, so in lessons, we’ll work on exercises to bridge the gaps in your voice and help keep your voice balanced and healthy.
If you’re not on T, we can work on lowering your pitch incrementally.
Resonance
Resonance is the sound quality of the voice. Though T can change the pitch of your voice, we will work together to find a darker, masculine resonance by changing the position of your vocal tract.
Vocal Weight
Vocal weight is how heavy or light your voice sounds. For vocal masculinization, we’ll work on finding a thicker, heavier vocal quality.
Inflection
Inflection is how your pitch moves up and down to show emphasis. For vocal masculinization, you’ll reflect on your personal inflection style, and we’ll work on finding a more masculine speech pattern.
Articulation
Some consonants create blockages of air followed by a burst of air to make the sound. You’ll learn how to notice this and how to articulate using more pressure.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality and trust are of the utmost importance during this process. All lessons take place via Zoom, which means that you’re able to work on your voice from the comfort of your own space. You may record the sessions.
What can i expect from my first Trans Voice lesson?
Our first consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other. I will learn about your relationship with your voice, your previous (if any) voice training, and what specific or broad goals you have.
I will answer any questions you have about voice training, and give you an overview of the topics we can cover. Together, we’ll build a personalized plan to get you to your goal.
